Nur Mohammad Smriti Mahavidyalaya, is the sole higher education centre of Samsherganj Block, in Dhuliyan, Murshidabad. There was a dire need of a college at Samsherganj, a highly populated area where students were deprived of higher education. Fortunately, the Nur family come forward to set up a college here, inspired bythe vision of Late Nur Mohammad Biswas.It was established in 2008 by Khalilur Rahman, the eldest son of Nur family and handed over to the Govt. of West Bengal.  From the year 2008-2009 classes wereheld in a small building donated by the Nur family at Ratanpur. In the year of 2010 the college building permanently shifted beside NH 34 near Duckbanlow over 6.5 bigha land of Nur family who donatedthe entire front building. Since then Border Development Scheme and NTPC have donated two building. In 2019 a four storied building was handed over to the college by the Minority Development Programme, Govt of West Bengal. Now the college is moving from its infancy to  childhood and facilities including adequate housing, library etc are being provided. The college is located 82 km from Berhampore and 17 km from Farakka, the nearest train station is Dhuliyan Ganga.  At present about 2500 students are studying and adequate subjects are taught with Honours.Our several students have achieved remarkable results in University of Kalyani. Our students regularly participate in sports, NSS etc extra curricular activities and very soon NCC will be started. In future many subjects likely Geography, Physical Education etc will be introduced.
